Zanzibar White Sand

Relais & Châteaux on Paje Beach.

Private beachfront villa at Zanzibar White Sand

On Zanzibar’s southeast coast, Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa offers something increasingly valuable: genuine space. This family-owned retreat sits within tropical gardens along Paje Beach, with 19 private villas and three Cinnamon rooms.

Generous private gardens, dedicated butler service and villas designed around privacy create an intimate alternative to a conventional beach resort. Tanzania’s first Relais & Châteaux property also holds One MICHELIN Key for 2026.

Two restaurants, the Senses Spa, yoga, kitesurfing and watersports bring variety to each stay. Stone Town and Jozani Forest offer another side of the island. Solar energy, battery storage and on-site drinking water production support its approach to responsible luxury.

From Serengeti skies to Zanzibar sands

Two sides of Tanzania. One considered journey.

Few destinations handle contrast as naturally as Tanzania. A journey can move from elephants beneath Tarangire’s baobabs to the scale of the Serengeti, then to bare feet beside the Indian Ocean.

Zanzibar has its own story: Swahili history, Stone Town, spice culture, dhow sailing and intimate luxury properties. Our latest Tanzania feature explores how to give both safari and coast enough room to matter.

Zanzibar

Five nights exploring the island’s areas, properties and experiences beyond the pool.

4 nights

Tarangire

Four nights among baobab landscapes and elephant herds, with time to settle into safari.

4 nights

Serengeti

Four nights on the plains, including a hot-air balloon safari, followed by one night in Arusha.

From Zanzibar’s coast to a balloon safari over the Serengeti, Bettina’s latest photographs bring the journey into focus. Her lodge visits include Nimali Tarangire and Nimali Mara, with fresh observations to help us match each stay to the traveller.

The quieter moments matter too: a comfortable room, dinner overlooking the bush and time to take in the setting. A few more glimpses from Bettina’s recent lodge visits.

From our trade desk

Selling Tanzania beyond the checklist.

Not every client needs to see everything. Four nights in one safari area can offer more depth than a succession of short stays. Choose the Serengeti location for the season, give Tarangire time where it fits, and match Zanzibar to the traveller’s interests.

Send us travel dates, safari experience, wildlife priorities, preferred pace, accommodation style, Zanzibar interests and an approximate budget. We will shape the route around the traveller.

A note from Bettina

Dear Travel Partner,

I’m writing from Tanzania, where the journey has taken me from Zanzibar to Tarangire and the Serengeti. One extraordinary highlight was watching around 1,500 wildebeest cross the river, with our vehicle the only one there. The balloon safari has been another memorable part of the trip.

A photograph can show a lodge, but it cannot tell you how a transfer flows or whether two properties work together. This month we bring that first-hand perspective to safari and sea. Whether your client is considering the Serengeti, an intimate Zanzibar retreat or both, send us their brief. We’ll take it from there.
